Note
It’s important to look at monetization as a long-term goal, as this can take anywhere from a few months to even a few years. Just remember, it’s estimated that less than 1% of YouTube channels make money and an estimated 93% of Twitch streamers average less than 6 viewers.
As I covered in a previous section, it’s harder to become a YouTube Partner than a Twitch Affiliate, even after YouTube introduced the “expanded” program that halves the number of minimum subscribers required to qualify.
Monetization Requirements
Below are the requirements to get monetized on YouTube:
| Title | Min Followers | Min Watch Hours | Min Average Viewers | Other Reqs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Partner | 1,000 subscribers | 4,000 in the last year | or 10mil Shorts views in the last 90 days | – |
| Partner (Expanded) | 500 subscribers | 3,000 in the last year | or 3mil Shorts views in the last 90 days | Only eligible in certain countries, 3 public uploads in the last 90 days |
Your Revenue Share
Below is the revenue share from memberships and super chats:
| Type | Share |
